7 days Mount Kinabalu Expedition

Day 1,1st Nov-

These 3 stalkers came to sent me n Yijing off at terminal one. Totally shocked.
Cos Shanice was saying, "Eh that person looks like Cass!!" Then me n Yj turned around n saw them!


Mr Yip came to sent us off n gave his speech.










We're damn stupid cos we sneaked our food in N the Air stewardess keep telling us, "No outside food allowed" so we secretly ate n when we see her approaching, we hide the food quickly LOL

Landing at Kota Kinabalu Airport.



At first I was like, WTF. This place is so ulu. Everywhere is mountains N mountains.

Boarded our bus N headed to 1Borneo for lunch. Free time.

Checked into Akinabalu Youth Hostel. I like that place! There's free internet access N we can watch DVDs for the whole night

For dinner they brought us to some restaurant to eat (good or what?!) N i liked it.
Had free time again, headed to Centerpoint to shop!


And I was the first one to fall asleep! FYI the latest I've stayed up to is only 0330AM. (Y)


Day 2, 2nd Nov
Had to eat instant noodles in the morning so I skipped breakfast n went to surf the net but YJ is eating so happily. Checked out of hostel.


We got forced to walk this unstable Tamparuri Hanqing bridge(i remembered the name cuz im reading the itenary paperZ!)

And NO, the bridge didn't break becos I walked pass it.

Just in case ur wonderin y we're wearing same clothes as day1, cuz we're going 4 hotsprings n we'd rather wear dirty clothes

Visited an open market.

Mr chen is DAMN lame cos when he saw this pineapple, he turned to me n YJ n said, "Spongebob lives inside!" N our face immediately -.-

Checked into our resort,

N headed to Poring Hot spring. Had a short trek, which I almost died. So can't imagine me on the mountains. Went to the waterfall, had to go into the icy cold water. Didnt snap any pictures cause cameras entering hadto pay a fee. Then went for sulphur hotspring.

Also never become prettier/slimmer. Chey!

Back to resort, showered.

this seems rather scary actually.

Had BBQ dinner. N thats when we met our new friend, FATTY!

It lives in the kitchen, nowonder so fat! N it comes to all our tables sitting there, asking for food. All YJ's fault! Cos she started giving it food first! LOL And when we ignored it, it went to other tables!

Pathetic, there's only one plug. Had to boil water on our beds

Back to our rooms, me N YJ watch this scary vampire show on TV but in fact we found it rather amusing. 1st one to fell asleep again N YJ took the chance to go N play Poker with the teachers next room! Woke up during midnight to see only Chengyee sleeping in the room. ALL PANGSEH!! YJ was stupid enough to drink coffee in the night N had insomnia. aHAHhaHAH!

Day 3, 3rd Nov (Yijing's 15th birthday!!)

Woken up by the guys telling us to see the view of Mt K outside our resort.

N buffet breakfast. Again. Buey sian ah?

Checked out of resort, N visited a primary school just down hill.

They seem damn enthusiastic about us coming because its the first time they had visitors.

N they're truly adorableeeee 8)

And they started going up to our guide, who looks ridiculously like Jacky Chan, for signatures. The they started coming up to us for autographs too. 8)

When they're saying bye to us. One girl even came up and said, "Bye sister" Awwwww!! :(

Transfered to Kinabalu Park HQ, Checked our luggages into Grace Hostel.

N lunch, could order anything we like 8)

Had a slideshow on Mount K. after lunch. Back to hostel, showered, N there's leeches in the bathroom. :S

We wear till like damn exaggarating i know. We even wear socks n slippers which is damn ugly but we were just following the crowd. Lol.

And we were sitting outside of the restaurant because I thought 'the view would be nicer' LOL but it turned out that there were many insects N I was screaming for Yijing loudly, and everyone else was looking at me. So the next table was also screaming, "Help them!!" N Jacky came n realised that its just an insect. -.-

N we celebrated YJ's, Colin's N I forgot her name sorry's birthday!

So qiao, Colin's birthday falls on the same day as YJ!

Their birthday cakes. The teachers gave them presents too. So sweet right!

YJ's great idea of using others' walking stick to hang our wet clothes ahhahaha!

N that night was the night we slept till damn shiok N didn't wanna wake up the next morning when our alarms rang.

Day 4, 4th Nov

Buffet breakfast at the same place

Started our climb for Mount K at Timpohon Gate.

The temperature was dropping as we got higher, and it started to rain. WTF. N at around 4km I really wanted to give up because of my high altitude sickness, which made me feel damn sleepy N nauseous. But I would rather walk 2km up then go 4km down. N people around me kept pulling me up. 8) On the boring journey, we were listening to songs that motivate you but it seems like they r of no help. -.-

Imagine facing all these trees for 7 hours N the route seems never ending?! N only 5% of the route is flat ground, the others are rocks N stairs. WTF I thought I'll die that. Choy. We were warned not to curse n swear on the mounatin cause its a place where the spirits of dead will go. But everytime i almost trip something mean comes out of my mouth. Sorry!!!

And its like a nightmare when u climbed for fucking 7hours N finally see a house up ahead, then people tells u that that's not the place you're going to, N u still have to climb another 500M. WTFFFF!!! I was crying on my way up cause i felt like dying then. I don't know why I'm so slow, and everyone offered to carry my bag which made me felt so bad. In the end I still reached last, even when I'm the only one who's not carrying anything cos others was taking my stuff for me. LOSER. People in front of me kept lying to me by saying "5more minutes!" N i think they said the same thing for 20 times?!

I heard "Comeon vernice" for 10+ times, "Becareful" for 20+ times, N "Jiayou" for like 30+times. HAHA NO JOKE.

Buffet dinner at Laban Rata Resthouse. FINALLY!!! N when me N YJ opened to door, everyone started clapping which made me start to cry again. Because I felt damn encouraged, first time in my life. LOL I really sound like a weakling right?! In the end everyone made it to 6KM mark except for 1 asthma case. :(

After dinner, had to climb another 100m to out hut, where we'll be staying overnight. Everyone was like "huhhhhhhhhhhh.........." but we still chionged all the way up because it was freezing cold.

DAMN. WOW.

After the sun set, saw the night sky through the windows N the whole sky was filled with stars, N it was damn beautiful! Beared with the coldness N got out to take a look. Arghhh but too bad it can't be seen in photos.

Yijing's heatpack which was of no use, in the end we went to boil a kettle N hug it.

N we can't stop laughing about the air inside our food. I also dunno why. BTW we can laugh at the same thing for 7 days.

And everytime we got bored, we'll start calling people up. hehehe. We told them we were in a five star resort soaking in a bath tub, when in fact we're suffering. And we even told Miss cindy wong to tell our friends that we're in a five star resort. And she said, "According to Yijing, We are in a five star resort enjoying..." HAHA!

That night was super cold, so I went to sleep with Yijing at her bed. N also because both of us were afraid lah! And on that night even tho I only slept for 2 hours, I dreamt of trees, rocks N me climbing up! Arghhhh! N I kept asking YJ to accompany me to the toilet cuz I dont know why i keep wanting to pee when its cold. WHY AH?!

Day 5, 5th Nov

Next mornin, had to get up at 1AM to finish the remaining 2km of the climb to the submit, Low's peak. When we started, not even 10M, YJ's started feeling unwell because she got jelly legs! Lol! N after much persuation, the mountain guide brought her back to the hut. After she got back, I took 1 step N felt nauseous again, Shanice too. But we wanted to get to the peak so badly so we continued, but seriously I cannot make it. My group members promised to take pictures for me, because they saw that I was so upset. Hahaha. Passed them my camera. Then Mr Chen brought me back to the rest house. Argh n I started crying again N I dunno Y. Like very malu lo, cos people kept shining torches at my face N can see me weaping, so i tried my best to look away. LOL. Mr chen is damn funny, he gave me this super Big plastic bag, the size of my backpack, in case i feel to throwing up. HAHhahHAa!

Went back to the hut, N saw YJ sleeping on the table because she didn't dare to go into the room alone. HAHAH! Mr chen kept comforting us not to feel bad about not able to complete the climb, but actually we're feeling bad abt causing him not able to finish the climb. He woke us up at 5am to see the sunrise, but because it was raining, and there wasn't a single shit. And when everybody was climbing up the mountain in the rain, we were sleeping till damn shiok. :X In the end,only 3 people reached the submit, n 2 were very close. :/

Buffet breakfast at LabanRata. After that had no choice but to climb down again.

Supposed to take half the time we climbed up to go down the mounatin, instead my group took 8hours to go down, because Hamzilah sprained both her ankles.

With the mountain guides. Whatever lah, i'm just going to post pictures regardless my face looks fucked or what. I just finished crying and complaining. LOL

Back to city, 2 hour bus ride, checked into Youth Hostel.

Day 6, 6th Nov

Went for white water rafting, the river is even cleaner N nicer than Sentosa beacher ok. My boat capsized N i got kicked in my face. :)

After that, Jacky treated all of us to catch Surrogates @ nearby cinema

Great show. After that headed to shoppinggg!

Cus we couldnt walk properly after descending the mountain. N many people kept staring at us while we walked down the stairs

Damn sian, cus im gonna repeat the same joke.

I saw the telephone booth N i was like, "Hello!!" then this anonymous guy beside me replied me, "Hi!!" LOL.

Headin back 2 hostel. Everyone sat down n had reflections 8) n Watched Final destination 3.

Day 7, 7th Nov. Headin home =(

Me N YJ was damn pro! We were told 2 assemble at 8.15am, but we woke up at 8.10am. And we made it on time. WOAH. Headed to Kota Kinabalu airport, group photos. Seriously, I grew fonder of that place N i seriously hope I can stay there. (LOL)

Reflections. Though this isn't a learning trip/tour but in fact I learnt many things during 7 days, N also I did many things I didn't expect I could. Like climbing 6km. whooo! I didn't reach the submit but I believe I can still do it another time. ;)

hehehehe. But those who reached the peak had colour certs. Fair enough.
